Belle Meade Fall Festival

Unbelievable

We've got no gas here in Nashvegas. And those few stations that do have gas have lines lines lines - so long you'll probably run out of gas before you make it to the pump.

Kindergarten Picasso

The youngest did some finger painting this weekend and created a masterpiece of family life. As you can see from the picture - The orange ball with legs and arms is me, the red ball standing on one leg with hands in the air is Bugg, and the green and blue smaller balls are the boys (the youngest - the smaller green one of course).

He's learning how to spell all kinds of words now in kindergarten and you can tell from the excitement in his voice and the way he presses down soooo hard when he writes these new words, that he is eager to learn and loves all the new knowledge he's soaking in.

He's also very self-aware as evidenced by his statement regarding the family portrait:
"I'm not so good with heads".

Indeed - you can see the heads in the picture are rather abstract ;).

But we clearly all look like we are having a grand time playing in the grass!

Brownies for Christo

Last Sunday we went to SUPER MEGA church and they had tables set up all over the main foyer area with all types of brochures and pamphlets and what not about the end of the world and other 'religious' type things.

As we passed one of the booths I noticed they had brownies and tiny little cupcakes with icing (shocked that I noticed?). I of course snatched up a brownie and headed into the balcony area to take my seat among the other brownie, I mean Jesus lovers.

The brownie was good and I wanted another and possibly one of those tiny little cupcakes with icing. I decided it would be funny to head back to the table, casually pick up another brownie and say to the person working the table "So....tell me more about this Jesus guy I keep hearing about."

I didn't do it but it made me giggle throughout most of church.

Book Club

My book club (me) met the last two days to read a book that's been on my list for a few months (recommended to me by a co-worker).

The book: "The Shack" by William P. Young, is about a tragedy and a man's struggle with his relationship with God. God happens to be personified as a large black woman named Papa who you can't but want to hug.
