I'm 40 and I know it (almost 40)

Yesterday I had an epiphany while Van, the 20 something girl who does my nails, was talking to me. She made a reference to someone being my age - 35 or so (bless her heart)and it hit me. I'm almost 40 and dammit I know a lot.

I've had a lot of life experiences and life experience; not as many as some, but I'd venture to say more than many.

I'm proud of the grown up I've become, the knowledge I've gained along the way, and I'm going to own the hell out of this stage in my life and if you don't like it you are free to leave me alone.

I have long way to go but that's okay, I'm an adult now, I can handle it.

We went bowling this weekend with the boys and I went painting with Bethany and Amy last night. The bowling was not bad - the painting was a FAIL. Had to be one of my worst paintings ever. I did an excellent job on the trees and leaves but the owl...I think he looks like an old transvestite. The flowers we did earlier in the week turned out much better.

Hello, hello again

FaceBook makes it too easy to ignore my blog. I'm going to make an effort to blog this year - not just more often b/c it won't take much to hit 'more often' as bad as I've been about it. So I'm going for frequent, regular blogs complete with pictures, witticisms, cynicism, humor, honesty, and heartfelt critiques on the world around me.

To start off I'm going to catch up on a practice I started a few years ago - a picture of me, me, me on my birthday. I'm 39 now and this picture was taken a few weeks after the offical date. It's cheesy but I'll be happy to look back on it one day.
